Storms first fire works
Gill and Storm had been invited to a bonfire night party. This is always celebrated on November the fifth in Cold England. Gill hadn't played with sparklers since she was a little girl with her hair in pigtails and wore a revolting reg jacket with a nasty hood. Gill tried to act mature and pretend that she was taking storm for his benefit to the bonfire party but Storm knew better! The fact that she nearly left him on the sofa was the first clue and Storm had to remind gill politely that he was invited too.
Gill and Storm were picked up by Belinda and her three oldest children. Storm was quite disgusted that the first thing Belinda oldest cub threatened was to put him on the fire!!!! and that she also threatened that she would hide him in the flower bed. Storm looked up at Gill with a scrunchy worried look on his face. "Mummy I don't think anyone should make nasty threats to cutie pie little bears like me do you?" As he said this (from the safety of Gills arms)he gave oldest child of Belinda his fiercest scowl. Gill looked at storm with a somewhat embarrassed look and told him to shut up.But not loud enough for anyone to hear after all experts in child care would never even think of using such an unsuitable word although they might think it quietly in their heads for very talkative or negative children.
Feeling a little guilty Gill told Storm that he could holld the jelly beans as a very special treat. Storm readialy agreed to this and didnt say another word for the entire trip to the farm where the bonfire party was taking place. He was so very good that when Gill asked him questions he just mumbled " arhhrrmmmmamrmam aha ummmmarhamm "
Gill congratulated her self on her great ability not only with 0redirection of behaviour with children but little bears also.
Redirection is just a fancy way of saying distracting from loud noisy temper tantrums which these days are called child self expression. What ever they are called Gill doesnt liked dealing with them as they are time consuming. She resorts to bribery and distraction aka redirection as it is a fail safe method for all but the most persistent (stubborn or spoiled ) children. Storm who is both spoiled and stubborn gets redirected frequently. Years of looking after Storm should have been a clue as to the seemly compliant behvaiour from her little bear who was so good he was indeed shutting up.

Arriving at the party Gill declined the kind offer from belindas oldest child to look after storm storm fear was so great in fact he was faoming multi coloured spoit from the mouyth and couldnt utter san word just muffeled sounds of terror!!!!
Sperkelers were handed out Gill racing to getthe first one then retreating sadly to let the children much smalller then her have a turn actually hse had one hidden behind her back and she had great fun writting rude words such as poop and piddle in the aor with fire of course in Gills case not having much lexiconic ability worte pope and puddle which didnt quite bring the shocked admiration she was hoping for. We di mention she struggles with maturity and apparently spelling! ( who would have known)
Having finished the sparkelers while the other adults drank tea coffee pop and some srt of amber liquid in brown glassbottles it was time to eat . Gill had come prepared to decporate teh triffle with jelly beans her idea being ton place them carefully around teh bowkl in ever decreasinf cirles starting with red and deand gradually using all the rainbow colours . This had the added advantage of not using black jelly beans thet enither gill or stor like as the rian bow doesnt conain this ciloour
"Has any one seen storm" gill asked teh chikdren thsi as teh adults tend to give her pitting looks whe n she asske about him .STORM"
"Yes mummy"
"Its time to decorate the triffle"
"Okay mummy"
"Storm where are the jelly beans i gave you to nlook after"
"I dont know mummy"
"What is behind your back storm"
Jelly beans but they al turned into black ones"
"Stoooooorm"? Storm looked at Gill and as she got a good look at his shirt she asked him "storm didnt you have a white shirt on tonight "
"Oh yes mummy"
How come oys every coulour of the rainbow now in a sort of running down your chin type of pattern ?"
"I dont know mummy"Storm you didnt you couldnty have you ate all the jelly beans !!!"
" no mummy i idnt eat ALLthe jelly beans i left the black ones we could use thiose Im full any way" STORM
Funny thing is neither storm or gill were invited back the following year
Storms grumpy morning
The bears get their shoes on.
Well it was one of thise unusual days when the porrage was just right every one at Teddy Bear daycare had eaten breakfast already. However Storm was really, really, super duper cross. He stamped his feet, he wrinkled his nose, he folded his arms and turned his head away. But peeked over his shoulder just in case some one notice.
Gill asked Storm, “ What ever is the matter?”
“Mummy, I’m super duper amazingly big time cross and I don’t even feel cutie pie cute right now. “
Gill scratched her head, nibbled a finger nail peered at storm carefully but just couldn't in a million zillion years think why her little big boy bear was so cross. He had his scowly face on. You know the one where he wrinkles his nose up so high you cant see his eyes any more.
Gill decided to see if a walk to the park would help Storm feel better.
“Well come on bears get your shoes on and we will go down to the park. Fresh air will cheer everyone up."
“NO! Mummy I don’t want to put my shoes on. I want to use my scowly face and make my eyes go hide not peeky seeky”
“STORM!”
“Yes Mummy?”
“DO you want to see my scowly hide my eyes face ?”
“No Mummy”
“Shoes”
Storm deliberately put his shoes on as slowly as he could. First he put the left shoe on his right paw then he slooooooooowly put the right shoe on his left paw he stuck his feet out in front of him and wiggled his toes just a little bit hoping Gill would give him some attention and tell him to change his shoes to different feet.
Gill being wise to the ways of cross little bears led all the bears out of the house.
The bears leave the house
Azam and Gregory held paws ever so nicely Adrian and fred held achoo between them. His paws didn’t actually reach the ground so they carried him swinging him along by his arms.
Storm has to hold Gill's hand.
'Mummy I can't go for a walk I don’t have a partner!"
Gill smiled very sweetly and though slightly gritted teeth said “you and I are partners Storm”
“OH”
As soon as we had all crossed the road safely Storm started to wiggle his tail.as soon as the teddy bear group got to the plum Storm was crossing his legs.
Storm changes his shoes and the bears sing songs
He changed his shoes to the right feet while the other bears played the speckled frog song jumping off the wall outside of the Plum. Storm's paws had began to hurt and Gill hadn’t given him any extra attention at all . Fred was really really good at jumping off the wall. He jumped so high Azam had to look way way sky high up to see where he had gone. Poor achoo could hardly see over the wall.
The bears run down the hill.
Storm was jumping from foot to foot by the time everyone linned up against the wall and ran to the railway train sign. All but Storm, Azam knew the signs and Gregory knew the signs Fred and Adrian looked worried and held achoo up high.
Storm has a problem
"Mummy I need to find a tree."
Gill looked at storms wriggles and decided he really did need to find a tree.
"Use that one there."
Storm walked all around the tree.Strom looked up and to the left of the tree. Storm peeked to the right of the tree, upzipped his pants and yelled.
"Mummy, Mummy, Mummy I need another tree. There is a little worm on the ground and I don’t think he can swim."
Gill, who liked the bears to solve problems for them selves asked Storm. "What do you think you could do about the worm Storm?" (what she really meant was why don’t you move the worm Storm?)
“I'll find another tree”
Azam rolled his eyes.Gill rolled her eyes and pointed to an oak tree.
Storm walked around the tree.Storm lookd up the tree. Storm looked to the left of the tree and he looked to the right of the tree. Storm unzipped his pants and yelled.
"Mummy, Mummy,Mummy I need another tree. There is a little catterpillar on the ground and I don’t think he can swim."
The bears climb over the railway tracks
While Storm was hopping from foot to the other foot the other bears were having fun climbing over the railway sleepers.
Gregory rolled his eyes. Gill rolled her eys and wearily pointed to another tree.
The bears help each other climb on the bench
Storm scuttled over as fast as he could with crossed legs.
The rest of the bears were running to the stone bench and jumping off it.
Storm walked around the tree. Storm looked up the tree. Storm looked to the left and the right of the tree. He unzipped his pants and yelled.
" Mummy, Mummy, Mummy I need another tree."
"Why do you need another tree Storm?"
"There is a little ant on the ground and don’t think he can swim."
"Storm we are really near the bathrooms now just hang on okay."
"Okay mummy." Storm looked a lot happier now.
Everyone lined their toenails up before they looked right, left and all-around for cars and ran to play in the playground.
Gill looked at Storm. "Storm didn’t you have light blue pants on this morning?"
yes mummy
well funny how they look dark blue now, ummm how odd."
"Mummy can I have a cuddle ?"
Gill was so happy to have her happy little boy bear back she lifted storm up for a big cuddle.
“Storm!”
Storm giggled “I know”
